Dr. Johnson statue, Lichfield
Off to see my parents and dogs for a couple of days. It'll be nice to escape London, even for a short time. Lichfield-born Samuel Johnson said "He who tires of London, tires of life" but it can get a bit mad, and not just in 28 Weeks Later!
A few doors down from where I used to live in Kilburn was a run-down disused vandalised scout building. A couple of weeks back it sold in auction for £400,000. Apparently it will be demolished to be replaced by a house or flats...worth £600,000! Utter madness...it will all end in tears.
